Congmen Destroying Lives of Everyone: KTR
BRS party working president KT Ramarao
Hyderabad: BRS party working president KT Rama Rao on Monday lashed out at the Revanth Reddy government and alleged that the Congressmen were destroying the lives of all in the name of bringing change in their lives. He participated in the mahadharna of auto rickshaw drivers at Indira Park and addressed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, he said he had never thought that auto rickshaw drivers would commit suicide. "In the last 10 years, we have enjoyed the fruits of development during KCR's tenure. The auto drivers said they were in a position to earn Rs 2,000 per day in KCR’s rule. Now, the Auto drivers are worried that they are unable to earn even Rs 300 daily. The Congress government has brought in a situation where auto drivers are committing suicide,” KTR said while claiming that the condition of nearly 6.5 lakh auto drivers is very pathetic in the State.
Reminding that last year Congress leader Rahul Gandhi came and showed a colourful dream by stating that he would solve the problems of the auto drivers, pay ₹ 1,000 per month, set up Auto drivers' welfare board, he said the Congress leader failed to fulfil his promises. KTR made it clear that they were not against good practices and asked the State government to fulfil all its promises. He said he would like to ask the auto brothers to think about what has changed.
“The suicides of farmers, weavers and auto drivers started after this government came to power. It was never thought that the auto drivers would commit suicide. We have asked the State government to include the names of those who committed suicide in the assembly. Even their families were not supported. We are not against free bus travel scheme. But the amount you promised to give to the auto drivers is Rs 1,000 per month. I want the State government to give 5,000 per month. The auto drivers' welfare board should be announced to be set up in the next Assembly session. Third-party insurance is being offered to auto drivers. The government should fulfil this demand,” he said. He alleged that the Central government had enacted a law to harass the auto drivers and added that the law should be revoked immediately.
He said no matter how many cases were filed or put in jail, as the main opposition party, they would fight for the people. “We want the promises made by the Congress party to be implemented. There is a need for everyone to fight together for the rights and resolution of the workers' rights and problems. We will fight on your behalf in the assembly as well. I also request the mainstream media to stand by the problems of those who are fighting without fear," KTR added.
